Greetings everyone. If you are reading this then you know it’s that time of year to start planning for the annual reunion. Last year we saw big changes as the president resigned his position after 40 years. Thank you Bruce Emery for your service and commitment to this family for so long. We are going to be welcoming two new officers as voted at last years reunion. It gives me great pleasure to announce Larry Emery has been voted in as president and Vincent Certoma as vice-president. Please join us this year to welcome them to their new positions. It’s a new generation and we look forward to your years of service to our family and our long and proud heritage. With these changes has also come a change in the camping. We will be in the same place just a different area so please when you arrive just follow the signs further down into our new camping site. Larry and his family have been working very had to make our new site as welcoming as our old site.
This year we are planning a fiesta weekend complete with games and crafts for the kids as well as piñatas for all ages to enjoy. This year should be as much fun as each weekend in the past years so mark your calendars and start your planning. On Friday night we will be having a campfire to welcome everyone. We will not be serving dinner on Friday night so please plan accordingly.
On Saturday there is plenty of time to swim, lounge by the pool, and visit with our cousins and friends. There are also plenty of lawn games. The area also provides fun attractions for all ages. The beaches are nearby as well as a petting zoo, shopping, antiquing and yard sales. On Saturday evening the officers will be supplying and serving a fiesta dinner with a taco bar, dirty rice, taco lasagna and assorted dishes. For those with a less daring palate we will also have hamburgers and hot dogs with various accompanying salads. There will be a campfire for all to enjoy after sundown and the Bingo game will be held as it is always a fun time with prizes.
On Sunday, the day of the reunion, we will be having the usual sawdust coin hunt which the kids love. This will be followed by the annual meeting so as to conduct old and new business. We are always looking for ideas to make each year a better year than the one before, so come and let your voice be heard. After the meeting there will be a pot luck lunch. Please bring your favorite dish to share. As always, upon completion of lunch, the event everyone looks forward to will take place… the penny sale and raffle. Please bring any items you would like to place on the tables.
The campground has restrooms, including a shower and a pool, so don’t forget you swim suits as well as lawn chairs. There is a large covered area out of the sun as well as a sunny area for lawn games or just sitting and chatting. There are many shaded areas throughout in order to cool off and watch the younger ones play.
The campground has spaces for tents, trailers and motor homes. You may pull in any time on Friday. If you would like to arrive earlier in the week please call to set up a time for your arrival. To make reservations for the weekend please call me at 978-944-3075. There is a $25.00 charge for the weekend for each family to alleviate the cost of water and electricity. For those of you needing electricity, please bring the appropriate electrical cord.
For those planning on bringing the family pet we ask that you abide by the following rules:
proof of rabies vaccination, only one dog per site unless prior permission is obtained from Larry. Pets must be on leashes at all times or runs that don’t exceed your site. Cleaning up after your pet is your responsibility.
There is plenty of time to plan for the reunion and we look forward to seeing each and every one of you.
